Our Learn to Swim Levels

Our swimming lessons provide children with a multitude of benefits that extend beyond the pool. From essential water safety skills to physical fitness, confidence-building, and cognitive development.


By enrolling your child in our learn to swim program, you are not only ensuring their safety but also setting them up for a healthy and confident future.


Your first step is to book a free swimming assessment for your child to determine which level to place them in our program.



Level 0 - Clownfish

Water confidence and safety with plenty of encouragement.


Working towards being able to fully submerge, blow bubbles, retrieve submerged objects, glide on their front and recover to standing, float on their back, roll from front to back, kick on both front and back, and take a breath independently while swimming.

Level 1 - Flying Fish

Working towards being able to independently glide on their front and back, float on their back without assistance, collect sinkers with help, kick with a board, breathe to the side, and perform freestyle arm movements.

Level 2 - Blue Shark

Focuses on the consolidation of freestyle and backstroke timing, kicking and breathing patterns.


Introduction to breaststroke kick on back, bilateral breathing, sculling and a seated dive from the edge of the pool.

Level 3 - Wahoo

Swimmers aim for 15m freestyle and 12.5m backstroke with correct technique and breathing.


Introduction to breaststroke breathe, kick and glide pattern with kick board. 


Introduction to a kneeling dive and butterfly kick.


Beginning progressions for tumble turns and sculling.

Level 4 - Blue Marlin

Swimmers build to achieve 25m freestyle and 25m backstroke unaided with correct technique. 


Introduction to breaststroke arms and consolidating the stroke with kick. Add butterfly arms and move to blocks for diving.


Learning how to tumble turn and scull correctly. 

Mini Squad

Swimmers build on freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke to achieve 50m of correct technique.


Refining their tumble turns, proper push starts and dives with dolphin kick & streamline. 


Working towards 15m butterfly with fins. 

FAQs

  • What age can I enrol my child in your program?

    Our first level of learn to swim (L0 - Clownfish) starts at 4 years of age.


    Our pools are not set up for babies & toddlers unfortunately.

  • How do I enrol?

    The first step is to book a free 15min assessment at one of our pools. 


    You can book up to 3 siblings in the same 15min timeslot. 


    Your child will have a 1 on 1 lesson with an instructor to determine the best level for your child to start our program in.


    You will be provided with some instructions on how to enrol online. You can start up to 2 weeks ahead of time.

  • How many swimmers per class / level?

    To ensure the quality of our learn to swim programs, we keep our class sizes small as per below.


    Level 0 - 3 swimmers

    Level 1 - 4 swimmers

    Level 2 - 4 swimmers

    Level 3 - 4 swimmers

    Level 4 - 5 swimmers

    Mini Squad - 6 to 8 swimmers (this is the last level of learn to swim before our squad program)

  • How many minutes are the lessons?

    All our learn to swim lessons are 30mins in duration.

  • Do you offer private lessons?

    Yes we do! We have places for private lessons for kids that need a little bit of extra help to work on a certain skills or catch up to their age level.

  • Do you provide make up lessons?

    Students are eligible for 1 make-up lesson per month if the absence is reported via the customer portal. Makeup tokens are valid for 3 months from issue date.


    Availability of make-up lessons is not guaranteed. Once a make up is scheduled, it can not be re-scheduled or carried over to another term.


    Ideally, you will never need a makeup class since consistency is a key to swimming progress. Please honour the spirit of this privilege and only use it for illness or an occasional special event.

  • Is the pool heated?

    Yes. We check the temperature daily to ensure the water is perfect for swimmers all year round.

Fees

We run a continuous swimming program throughout the year, including school holidays. We are closed on public holidays.

*plus new family registration fee $25. Only paid once upon registration. (includes free swimming cap)
